I know, you thought I was MIA all summer because I didn’t post anything here on the blog. But guess what? I was actually working on a secret bonus issue of the RGSH fanzine! That’s right, after a 3-year wait for issue 5, I’m dropping another issue this year: TV Game SuperHyper Issue 0!

“But wait, Teej –” I hear you say. “What do you mean, ‘TV’ Game SuperHyper? Why isn’t it ‘RETRO’ Game SuperHyper? Why is it issue 0? Why is it black and white? Why is the date on it 1994? And why are you so damned handsome?”

I get it, you have questions. Fortunately, I have answers!

Issue 0 is a throwback to real old-school fanzines, the way I used to make ’em back in the ’80s and ’90s. It’s black and white, it’s half-sized, the layout is amateurish. After I poured so much work into making issue 5 the biggest and slickest fanzine I’ve ever made, I decided to do a 180 and bang out an edition that looked like it came right out of 1994 — hence the cover title and the design aesthetic. The whole 28-page issue focuses on the 16-bit era, as if it was actually made over 30 years ago. So, since these games weren’t “retro” in 1994, I titled it “TV” Game SuperHyper instead!

Some elements on the pages are slightly crooked. Nothing is perfectly spaced. Some typos got through the proofreading. I was actually very careful not to make any of it look like it couldn’t have been done by hand with scissors and glue sticks (even though I did use desktop publishing to make it).

I hope you get a chance to check it out, as it was possibly the most fun and nostalgic issue I’ve put together yet! Order yours below!
